I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.  After teaching preschool and Kindergarten readiness classes, I returned to school and earned my teaching credential and Masters of Education, with an emphasis in Cross-Cultural Education and Literacy.  I taught in an Elementary classroom for seven years in San Diego before moving to the Conejo Valley.  Soon after, I became a Literacy and Language Interventionist, and I earned my Reading Specialist Certification at USC.  I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and Multisensory Structured Language Instruction to work with students who are at-risk for or diagnosed with Dyslexia.

I began my private practice in 2017, with my main focus on developing literacy and language skills with Elementary-aged children in a one-to-one setting.  Providing individual support has given me the ability to tailor each session to meet the specific needs of my students and set and monitor individualized learning goals.  I am currently a member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and the International Literacy Association.  I am on the IDA, Los Angeles Branch, Planning Committee for the annual Language and Learning Conference held at UCLA every March.

When I am not working with my students, I am spending time with my family.  My husband and I have three wonderful children, ages 12, 9, and 5.  We love traveling, exploring new places, playing sports and board games, reading, and making up stories together.  After working with children for over 20 years, it has been exciting to play an integral role in helping my own children learn how to read and become life-long learners.  As a family, we also like to participate in community service activities through a variety of local organizations.  My personal hobbies include photography, reading, kickboxing and cycling, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and extended family.
